Thanks... We are now just around a week and a half away from our move and now I'm stressed. We still have NOT found a place to live. Doing this state to state is hard. No one wants to rent to us because we are not there yet. Im worried that we wont have anything when we get there. We havent found out anything about our transfers so are worried those fell through as well. On a good note we have close to 10,000 dollars saved up. Ugh help please!! anything you know about renting something? Web sites? People? This sucks.

Try something here for a week or so. Once you are on the island, you will have much more success in finding an apartment.

Yup, a vacation rental or a hostel is the best starting point. They will have all the utilities set up, the units are generally furnished and you will be able to find somewhere else from there. Once you are on island, everything will be a lot easier and you will find a much better place.

Take any paperwork you have on the transfers. Keeping the job is the #1 priority.

Welcome to Kailua!

It might help future posters if (when you get settled and have time) you told us how you found your place to live and "best roommates ever".
