Buying a house in Boardman, West Blvd area.. not far from the school... Seems to be a nice area.

I don't know much about that area. But, based on the prices of the houses currently for sale in the neighborhod, it seems as though it's still pretty stable.

Can you be a little more specific about "Boulevard Park"?

It's one of the 2010 neighborhoods. http://www.youngstown2010.com/neighb...d%20aerial.jpg

It's defined by Rush and Euclid Blvds. between Midlothian Blvd. and Berkshire Ave.

Ahhhhh ok. I always liked that little neighborhood. It does seem stable and the houses are all kept up nicely. And Boulevard Park is actually a good name for it cause of the medians that separate the two lanes on several streets there...

There is a thrift store in an old plaza at the corner of Meridian Rd. and Mahoning Avenue. They might have furniture.

Default Have you considered Mineral Ridge

Mineral Ridge is a great location to consider. It is right in the middle of Niles and Boardman, great to choose either Southern Park Mall or the Eastwood Mall which are both great. It is a small township where people mind there own business and never any crime worth mentioning. Mineral Ridge has great schools with an awesome staff. There is a home I know for sale, it is in the low 90's with a fenced yard for dogs and has three bedrooms. The home is on Depot Street, real quiet neighborhood and is across from the middle and high school. Home is definately worth checking out. Plus Mineral Ridge is very close to Route, 80, 11, 680.

Liberty has crime issues and the cops are shady.

Girard has high utilities... sister-in-law got hit with a $1,200 water bill after the town screwed up on her bill. The city makes the home owners read their own meters now... beware

Niles high crime and crappy schools

Boardman has high property taxes and are snobby and $$$$

Howland snobby and $$$$

Austintown, great but has higher taxes

Lordstown is a nice area, great schools and lots of land

Cortland is far from Youngstown! That would be a haul to drive but I know people that drive farther.

Actually, Cortland is only about 20 minutes north of Youngstown, I wouldn't say that's a haul.

That Eaton Group site is much better than Realtor.com. It is amazing what is available under $400K. I forwarded one to my wife that looked great!
