If not now, is it becoming one?

Was reading a thread on the Dayton page, and a number of people were saying it is so...

The federal government's trade policies have effectively driven down wages and benefits for American workers. We have the best Congress money can buy.

The local factory that used to pay well over $20 an hour now pays $10.50 an hour with no benefits thanks to U.S. Trade policy and the U.S. Congress.

You are writing as though U.S. Congress and U.S. government are independent agents perpetrating mischief just because of the fun of it and not because they serve transnational owners of the local factories that used to pay well over $20 an hour.

Why do people like you keep re-electing the same clowns to Congress if you disagree with their policies?

Probably because the clowns (and forces behind them) have absolute control over "who's on the ballot" and especially "who's gonna get media exposure". As a result of this "managed" democracy, it does NOT really matter whom you what for. Ballot is sterilized of the system "shakers" long before elections. Elections are increasingly meaningless formality.
