Don't really understand your question. The PACs come in, often at the last minute once all of the ad slots have already been reserved, and offer stations double or triple the rate in order to guarantee that their ads air. The stations obviously take the money and bump commercials that were already scheduled and replace them with the PAC ads. We don't have to pay for our spots that got bumped for a political ad, but it's a lot of work to have to recreate your schedule to make up for all of the bumped spots.

The only ones making money are the heads of the stations and the large corporates that own the stations. The advertising sales reps who we work with don't earn commission on political ads, and they have to do extra work as well to issue make-goods for all of the ads that they sold that got bumped.

Yes!! I don't watch too much TV, but between the Bengals game last night and the news tonight, it's non stop. It's the same way with the local radio stations, so I've been listening to Pandora/Spotify instead for a while. I support citizens getting involved in the political process, but dang, the ads are annoying when they're just one after the other.

I live in Dayton, Ohio.

No more than usual. Ohio is an important state in every Presidential election. No republican has carried the White House without it. But, yes, they're about 10-1 compared to what I saw when I was in CT last week. All the ads there were pretty much local races.

Yes, and I'm getting tired of it. Oh well, not too much longer. I thought it was the norm for the whole country, but I guess not lol.

I don't watch a ton of tv and when I do, I'm usually zoned out during commercials, but my mail box and landline phone are being bombarded!

I don't have a landline anymore, but my one girlfriends said that she had 7 messages on her machine yesterday and 14 missed calls! Ridiculous!

They're so constant that I think they've long since lost their effectiveness. There's only so much you can listen to, and this goes for the presidential race ads and also the Senate race between Brown and Mandel. I've completely tuned them out.

I suppose they're directed at whatever undecideds are still out there but, honestly, how many of those can there be? If you haven't made up your mind by now I'm not sure what it's going to take. But I can bet it won't be a TV ad, or yard sign for that matter.
