Used to be a nice, quiet rural town. Now completely overrun with yuppies, big box retail, aggravating traffic jams and sprawly McMansions.

I seldom hear a traffic report on the radio that doesn't include trouble at "70 east between Brice Rd. and 256..."

I personally wouldn't mind a sprawling mansion, (note to self: Win Lottery!)..LOL So the developers/town planner didn't think about make changes to the infrastucture...mmmm To be honest with you I don't think any place could be worse than the place I currently live as far as traffic jams go. The English have this wonderful things call roundabouts...greatest invention since sliced bread. Had a hard time getting my head around them (no pun intended) when I first moved here 7 years ago but now I think they are wonderful. The problem is, that someone evil person somewhere showed the town planners a traffic light...it must have been all the pretty colours that took their fancy because now you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one! They have brought this town to a screaching halt! During rush hour it takes 30 minutes to go a mile and a half. UGH! As it turns out, the man in charge of this mess is/was an avid cyclist who thought that no one should be driving their cars and should all go to work on bicycles, so he made things as difficult as possible for us motorists. He's since been fired but as they have sunk hundreds of thousands of pounds into these lights I can't see the new city planner ripping them out and painting circles on the road, which is what should have been done in the first place.

We have lived in Pickerington for almost 4 years and it is a very nice community to live in. The schools are very good compared to other districts nearby and there is a lot of shopping. Yes, there is traffic, but there is traffic everywhere around Columbus. They also have a very good Parks and Rec system for a relatively small town and my children have enjoyed all that it has to offer (summer movies on the Barn at the park, horseback riding lessons, etc. ) I would recommend this area to anyone.
