Hi-
Is Tony Packo's Hungarian Hot Dog (that I read about today in a Dallas Morning News Article about foods that Election '08 candidates should consume while campaigning in Ohio) Worth The Drive from Cleveland or Downer's Grove??

I'm flying from Dallas to Cleveland (never been to OH) in July with my parents to see The Rock Hall of Fame. It's highly doubtful they'll want to make that drive from Cleveland to Toledo for a hot dog, no matter how hallowed.

My last hope for that "dog" is a friend who lives in Downers Grove that I'm flying to see as soon as possible but I donno if he'll want to roll all the way to Toledo to Downer's Grove for a hot dog.

Thanks,

fallguy

Let's look at it this way, Jamie Farr was always talking about Tony Packos and the Toledo MudHens on M*A*S*H. It is more than the hot dog. It is the ambience of the whole thing, the signed buns on the wall, etc.

Ditto....it's fun...then you can say you did it! I usually go when I'm back in town for a visit.

When we lived in Toledo, while hubby was attending college there, we frequented Tony Packo's; it was absolutely the BEST!

Might as well check out a Mud Hens game while you are there for the complete MASH experience.

The hot dogs are good, but it's more tradition than anything. Personally our family all craves Rudy's when we're back in town. I love Packo's though and it's definitely something worth making a trip for......maybe not a 2 hour trip though.

If you're in town over the summer, a trip to Packos and Hens game is totally worth it though. They put a "Packos at the Park" next to the stadium, but it's not the original. It's a quick drive over the river though to get the real thing. I miss Hen's games so much.......especially when I finally open my wallet and pay for sox tickets (Ouch)
