Hi all,

I am beginning my search for some up and coming neighborhoods in OKC to invest in a rental property or two. I think downtown OKC is going to continue to grow and prosper, so I would like to stay within 4-5 miles of the CBD. Anyone have any recommendations for neighborhoods that may be considered on the cusp...I'm looking to stay in the $125K and under range. My plan would be to keep the properties as long-term rentals, not looking for fix and flip. Areas like Deep Deuce and Midtown are out of my range, so I'm looking for what may be the next hip areas.

Thanks in advance!

Yukon is growing in leaps and bounds, and people like the school districts here. We're just west of OKC. It's also a very safe town. A lot of people like Edmond, it's a little further north. Midwest City, Del City, to the east. Moore, to the south. Good Luck.

Anything in the Paseo, Jefferson Park, Crestwood, Miller, Cleveland, Gatewood, and Lincoln Terrace west of Lincoln Ave. would almost be a sure bet. Houses vary greatly in price in all of those neighborhood but I know you can find a bunch under $125k. Central Park, Las Vegas, and Classen-Ten-Penn are farther behind the neighborhoods above but still have a lot of long term potential.

This is a blog post that discusses OKC's inner city North side neighborhoods. It is from 2010 so it's a little out of date, but it still gives you a good feel for where everything is.

A Downtown ontheRange: A City of Neighborhoods
Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I have family in the OKC area and visit about once a year or so, but they don't really follow the real estate market or spend much time in/around downtown. I will check out these areas on my next trip.
