I sometimes like t-shirts as souvenirs of places I visit...are there any popular student hangouts that have cool/funny tees I could pick up?...NOT the hot, trendy, yuppie, Greek (frat) place, but just a regular, local hangout that happens to sell tees.....

and, sorry to be naive, but are bars open on Sundays in Stillwater?....

and is the main OSU bookstore going to be open on Sundays in summer?....or is there an independent bookstore off campus that sells "offically licensed" OSU stuff?....thanks a lot

What comes most to mind is Eskimo Joe's. It has a t-shirt shop next to it. And there's a souvenir store east of there on the corner. On the corner across the street from there is a book store.
I don't know if the OSU book store is open on Sunday. You might have trouble finding it, because I don't think it's in the Student Union any more, due to a huge remodeling project on the north side.

Bars aren't open in Stillwater on Sunday due to city and county laws. So the strip is dead every Sunday. The county law makes Stillwater dry on Sunday, except for 3.2% beer, which is pretty stupid and oppressive, but no one wants to do anything about it, such as by passing around a petition to vote on repeal.

Then under city law, if a place like Eskimo Joe's sells a high enough percentage of food, then they are allowed to serve 3.2% beer on Sunday. The whole thing is a lot more stupid and an assault on liberty than it is confusing.

Definitely, Eskimo Joe's. I've seen their shirts all over the country.
Get a t-shirt and have one of their great burgers, along with some of their wonderful bacon cheese fries, or chili cheese fries.

If you just want OSU stuff, that will be easy. Every store in town will have it. Even Walmart or a supermarket or even a convenience store.

Eskimo Joes is the absolute best place to go for stillwater tourists. But however it depends on when you go, If you go to Stillwater on a game day you are going to get stuck in hardcore Afghanistan traffic. Stillwater has a lot of great options for food. But for bars....let's put it this way. CRAPPY.OKLAHOMA.BEER.

Just around the corner from EJ is the Stonewall Tavern. I thought they poured the stiffest drink in town. I regularly got my drink on for under $20.

thanks, all, for the advice.....got my shirt at Eskimo Joe's and was mildly surprised at what a minor tourist attraction the place is.....a whole "annex" for EJ clothing!.....

later, at the KC airport, a TSA officer pulled me out of the line for extra screening....he said he was from Tulsa and liked the shirt and that's why he pulled me (??).....
