So, I guess they are changing our license plates from the ol' tried and true Indian shield and peace pipe..now is this the worst design ever, or is it just me?

Does anyone else finds this rather ugly? I mean, yeah it is an update from the ones we have now, but I'm pretty sure from a distance people will wonder why cupid is on the new Oklahoma license plates..I don't get it. Plus as an OSU fan, I find the crimson lettering offensive .

Here's all 6 that they were considering, I personally liked No. 6 and No. 5 (who doesn't think Will Rogers is cool) and I'd even go for No. 2 rather than No. 1. Oh well, I guess the same person that picked the lame scissor-tailed flycatcher to go on our quarter also picked our equally lame new license plates, I may opt to go old school and keep my green one.

Personally, I would have gone with #5. If they wanted the Indian/arrow one, I would have preferred #2 myself.

I personally liked 2 and 6. Number 2 because I just like it being centered and how he is shooting straight up in the air, maybe representative towards our future progress? And number 6 because of our western heritage and it's neat lookin'. lol.

But yea overall, I hate the new design as well as the new quarter. Both are awful and we could have done a lot better.

LOL I think it's really dumb. I don't think you'll be able to tell what it is from a distance at all.

Well hech! Have ya'all looked at the Ohio tags? Now those are some dumb lookin tag. Besides, the states have to waste the tax dollars they get from all of us, so they waste it on vehicle tags instead of putting it to a good use.

If I were still driving, I'd rather have a vanity plate. At least a person gets to keep those, instead of the plate going with the car when it's sold, or having to be replaced when new plates come out. But DH was paranoid about them, so I never got one in AK, and now I don't need one anyway.

Vanity plates here in Ohio cost an extra $25 each year when you re-register your vehicle. But we do get to transfer our plates when we buy a new car or truck, when we can afford a new one

I just liked license plates when they were simple, like the yellow and black Alaska plates or the old tri-color Indiana plates. Now there are too many plates or versions and it's just a way for the states to make money. Plates have become to busy looking.

My son told me a few years ago that he and some friends made a road trip to somewhere in the deep south from Alaska. He said they got stopped constantly by the cops everywhere - no tickets, the cops just wanted to get a good look at an Alaska plate, they'd never seen one before. I still have a pair somewhere of the yellow and black ones.

Wouldn't just going to Canada be going into the deep south for Alaskans?
