I just moved to OKC in October, but I have been all over the place the past two years but usually in Texhoma on the weekends. I got tired of driving to OKC each week and got an apartment in OKC. My parents, and brother still live in Texhoma and Goodwell. I planned on staying in the Panhandle but after seeing what Guymon has become I was ready to leave.

To get back on topic, here's a picture of one of the new tags (on my car; my renewal came up in Dec and I didn't get to the agency until yesterday. They were giving EVERYONE the new tags regardless):

One thing I noticed was that they are about half the weight of the old tag, and the lettering is not stamped as before.

And just a note: #1 was my first choice, so I do like this tag. :-)

I just saw one of these the other day, and I LOVE the new style.

Granted, out of all the options proposed it isn't necessarily my favorite, but compared to the old ones I do think it's a huge imrpovement.

The colors are nice, and it's very clean and easy to read. A step up, if you ask me.

What I'm bummed about is not getting a new tag when my renewal was up in September! Pfft. Didn't even know about 'em.

Tim,

It's not that bad. Haha

Nah, I am a creature of change. If I stare at the same thing for too long, I go insane. That's at leasst 70% of why I like the new tags. They're...well...new!

I also noticed some kind of watermark vertically down the center of the plate. You can only see it straight on, and now of course I forgot what it says on it...doh.

I came here after commenting on a proposal to revamp the Iowa plates. This was listed as one of the similar threads on city data.

Looks like Oklahoma has come full circle with a new plate design. I don't have a right to criticize not being a resident of either Oklahoma or my native state of Iowa, but I am not a fan of the new Oklahoma plate. I didn't realize until the second or third time I saw the new plates that it was a bird in the background

I don't know if my opinion counts as an out-of-stater but the plates aren't that bad looking.

They would look better if they were stamped, imo.

The design is certainly more interesting than what we have here in PA (yawn):

The numbers are easier to read from a distance, I bet, than Oklahoma's. Maybe if enough cops complain about the numbers being hard to read, the current Oklahoma plates won't last very long.
