Its too early after 4 months to say I hate it here, as I'll be here for many years more than likely. But I definitely don't love it. I mentioned what I don't love (the weather and the fact that the entire dating pool is single mothers with 3 kids), so no need to go into detail here. Thankfully, I love my job and the people are friendly.

I'm curious. What is your complaint about the weather. I hate to break it to you but you have been here during the better part of our year. Next month the severe weather starts and it gets windy and humid. Then comes the three months of summer.

I know, I wish it was Atlanta, minus the pollution of course. If only I could have found a job this great in Atlanta, but I couldn't. But I don't know if I can bring myself to change my location on here.

Eddie, I am also referring to tornado season. As for the heat, I grew up in South Florida and lived in Atlanta, so I can handle it. Maybe September-October will be good months. Crap, only 2 good months of weather a year here.

That quote was to me, and that is exactly how I feel. Both sides of the isle would rather make all the rules and define what is allowed. Beware the 'true believer' of either side.

I find summer here remarkably like summer in inland socal. It's hot and even in the Riverside area the humidity has grown. August when the Arizona storms wander in is more like OK than not.

What of course we don't have here is the smog belt.
That trumps a whole lot of less than perfect weather. Hard to enjoy the outdoors when you can't breath.

Default Well, that certainly didn't age well.

Who would have thought that in 8 short years "progressive ideals" would translate into:
Tearing down statues.
Defunding the police.
Abolishing ICE.
Open Borders.
Censorship.
Sex change operations in the military.
Drag queen library readings for children.
Puberty blockers given to children without their parent's knowledge.
Blaming Western Civilization (white people) for all the world's problems.

Then move to Oklahoma, if you don't like the above "progressive ideals". To Oklahoma in recent years, progressive ideals have meant modernizing the ancient prohibition era anti-alcohol laws and legalizing medical marijuana. Most recently, for a progressive ideal, expanded Medicaid was passed, even though most of rural Oklahoma was against it. I guess rural people feared higher taxes as a result. But much of rural Oklahoma has been strongly against progressive ideals. But you can count me as in favor for all that. My town voted in favor of all three of those issues mentioned clear down to my precinct.

The town, Ada, which this thread was supposed to be about, doesn't appear to be a bad place to move to, since it has grown a little since 2000, while many other Oklahoma towns are still slowly fading away.

I think that poster would have a hard time finding his way to Oklahoma. He can't even find his way to P&OC on City-Data.

Too bad how the Oklahoma forum has gotten so slow and not current that a thread over 10 years old got dug up.
