Call it a restructuring lol Blame it on lower energy use. If memory serves correctly I thought supply and demand worked otherwise..At the same time they say "you're getting a good deal". Kind of makes you all warm inside. A few years ago they signed an agreement to purchase power from a new wind farm and stated rates would not go up for 20 years, wish I would have saved the article.

Retail electricity prices have been increasing across the country. Every single regulated electric utility has requested price hikes. It's for 2 reasons - overall increasing demand and investing in new generation, such as the wind farm you mentioned. The only way to control your electric prices is to put solar panels on your roof. That's the way things are trending in parts of the country where rooftop solar is cheaper than utility prices, but in Nebraska we still enjoy low rates. Iowa is even cheaper with MidAmerican Energy.
