Kentucky's a nice modern state with nice friendly people. It's more scenic than any state in the Midwest.. Louisville is a nice fairly large and diverse metro area around 1.3 million or so. Its very modern and has lots of interesting history. its quite a bit older than Indianapolis. Larger than Wichita and Omaha. There's plenty of stuff to do to keep young adults entertained. Louisville is also close enough to make day trips and overnight trips to places like Nashville and Chicago and Atlanta.
A job that pays $120k a year would be hard to turn down.
OK I will do more research and keep and open mind, if I do find an opportunity there for that salary, you're right I don't think I would turn that down.

Louisville is no different than any other large city, you'd be surprised at the many amenities that it offers- including diverse population.

Louisville is about 33% bigger and has ALOT more to offer than Omaha. Everything you like about Omaha but more of it. You will be shocked if you are expecting Louisville to be "Kentucky".

At 1.3 million vs 900+K in Omaha=. Louisville looks, feels, and acts like a bigger city. The weather is better and I feel the culture is unique. Omaha is a great, underrated city too. It's all in preferences.

Even though I am now living in Omaha, I spent my childhood summers in Louisville, and I have to agree with the others: don't be so quick to write Louisville off! It's a wonderful city, and Kentucky is a great state if you like the outdoors, it's gorgeous.

I lived in Omaha for 4 years while in grad school. It's a decent city, large enough to have stuff to do, but surprisingly little traffic (except the few blocks of downtown, but that's pretty standard in any major city).
