Depends what is important to you. If opportunity to go to an Ivy league or similar stature college is important, Wilson is as strong as any. If going to a small, non-diverse, suburban high school is important, it probably isn't for you. As I said, those folks go private. Similar to Santa Monica I think.

Erica -

I'm all for it, hassle or no, but I have to convince the man of the household (who grew up in the military, moved every few years, forms no emotional attachments to physical locations, and therefore could care less where he lives as long as it's safe). We have a few months left in our lease, though, so we'll see.

Thanks again, all, for the input. If we move, I'll post an update.

~G.

Default would appreciate input regarding moving to Seal Beach

I should probably start and new thread, and I may, but so appreciate everything that's been said here about Seal Beach, I'm getting excited! I currently live in NW Georgia (my hometown) but I lived in Cali for 6 years in 80's, mostly in NCali. My son wants to get close to LA, he thinks it'll be good for his prospects as a youtube video producer (he's 13). I have a degree in art education. No work here, none, zip. My deal: I've always been able to go somewhere and get great work... a little scarey with my son along for the ride, but Seal Beach came across my (internet) path this morning and I'm wondering if that's a sign... It sure looks good, and I'm thinking LA area might be a bit less depressed than it is here. I am very creative and adventurous, flexible and hard-working, with tons of experience from administrative/secretarial/office management, to public school teaching art, workshops, and also got massage certified when I lived in Cali, which is not worth much here, as one has to get licensed, go back to school, etc.... ok, long, I know, but what do ya'll think?

masseuses need to be licensed here..in fact..I think each town/city can require a separate one...not sure about that

Cali does not exist...please..it is California...

also..your 13 year old is many years away from being a video producer..likely 10 years away..so don't fret about that..get yourself a job first,,hopefully earning enough to live here...the rest falls into place

good luck
