Im coming to LA in January for the NAMM show and want to find a good reasonably priced (no more than 150 per night), clean hotel in a safe area in or near Anaheim. Cool vibe, nice neighborhood. Any help would be appreciated.

I always liked the best western on Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa. It is clean comfortable and inexpensive. Goat Hill Tavern is just down the road and he beach is close. Not super close to Anaheim though. Maybe 20 minutes.

There are tons of hotels in Anaheim between Disneyland and the convention center, they always have lots of business. I do not recal the name but there is one just outside of the Block in Orange. The Block is a great place to wander around, people watch, eat, catch a movie, etc.

I like Homewood Suites and Residence Inn and Courtyards. Free breakfast, free light dinner, free beer and wine, free internet, free, free, free (my favorite word).
Sometimes it is better to drive a few miles (especially if you can plan around traffic) to save money. Hotels near the convention center or disneyland (or airports) might be more expensive than those a few miles offset in the suburbs.
Also check to see if you employer has discount codes.

Try PriceLine.com. I once got a $200 hotel room in Garden Grove for $35.

Chapman and Harbor at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, near the former location of Belle Isles restaurant. It's hard to tell that you aren't in Anaheim. It feels like the Anaheim Resort area.

I was there the same day the Space Shuttle Colombia was destroyed.

My family stays at the Del Sol on Harbor just outside the gates of Dizzyland. They found it was the cheapest in the area. Just found out last year that NAMM is open to the public on the last day of the event.

Just finished an 8 night stay at the Quality Suites at Anaheim Stadium. Very clean, free breakfast, kitchen, very comfortable. Average price was only $62 per night! Close to the Block in Orange. Disneyland almost seconds away off the I-5.

Sheraton Garden Grove. It is not a horrible area. Just down the street from D. Land.

Opened a few years ago. It can be had for under $150 a night.

Lots of great deals. Look through them all.

One where you pay the same rate as your age.

Lots of good reviews on Trip Advisor.

Westin in Costa Mesa is good too.
