The Associated Students of the university's legislative council instituted the ban last week.

it had to be over ruled.

UC Irvine reverses ban on displaying American flag | www.ajc.com

it makes sense that the city with "the gateway to the East" would propose this.

Irvine ain't nothing but the progeny of octogenarian landowners, selling out to foreigners!

Gaijin!

Yeah, but the students quoted for their opinion in the paper today thought it was way, way, off......

And I trust they are not alone......

I'm a total liberal, but if that's the way they feel about our country, close down dream act programs and federal funding.

Glad its being over turned...

Could you imagine how other countries would respond if Americans moved abroad and then complained about the presence of their flags? A response along the lines of "tough ****, deal with it" would be the best-case scenario, and many places wouldn't even react that kindly.

It might blow some people's minds, but we put up with a lot more petty bull**** here in the United States than we have to. If people really don't like our way of life, they don't have to live here, and this goes for people born here too. Nobody's stopping anybody from leaving.

Personally, I think Dennis Miller put it most succinctly: "You live in melting pot, so melt already!"

Irvine in California which was once part of America long ago...

Since has become joint territory of the People's Republic of China

Most of the worthwhile Americans left long ago..they populate cities such as Phoenix, Austin, Henderson Nevada and Boise

Those that remain fall into three groups

The rich. Who guard themself away from diversity
The naive who actively encourage the destruction of what little "American-ness" that's left in the name of diverting
Those who couldn't leave, who can only watch horrified as what was once the American dream, #1 in education, the pinnacle of US exceptionalism descending into a third world state. Where entitled foreigners have literally claimed the land as their own.

So sad.

This is just one small piece in a much larger puzzle to erase people's sense of national identity so that they will be more amenable to a global government (which will be a dictatorship disguised as a democracy).

The larger agenda is talked about here from 32:20 - 38:38

I wouldn't brag too much about Phoenix... unless you're into alcoholic bimbos, lifted pickup trucks and $30k-per year Call Center wage earners who think they're "millionaires", Friday nighting it in Scottsdale and sleeping it off in Apache Junction or Tempe.

Henderson, NV??? Really? it is fast becoming another ghetto/Section 8 suburb of Las Vegas with a few gated communities thrown in to make the stupid nouveau rich people who retire there feel "safe".

Austin is a joke. It thinks it's San Francisco. Once you leave the city limits, you're still in Texas...miles and miles and miles of boring, ugly Texas! Spare me.

I'll give you Boise. It's quite pretty. But just west of there is Idaho's own version of Tijuana known as Nampa/Canyon County. So, really?

Orange County is still very conservative and very Republican. The Vietnamese community are very patriotic, as are a growing number of Latinos too.
