What cities in OC should we consider if we wanted a house with a large backyard under $1.3M? If nothing else mattered like schools.

Also is all of aliso Viejo master planned communities? Are there any large lots there?
Same question about mission Viejo, Ladera, Rancho Santa margharita and Laguna Nigel.

Orange Park Acres

The hilly area just outside of Orange near the Jr. College (the part before ou get to the new subdivisions, near Orange Hill Restaurant).

Silverado Canyon.

Floral Park in Santa Ana.

Lemon Heights/Tustin heights or whatever that area is called just east of foothill.

Corona?

How large is large? If you are looking for a half acre to an acre, those are probably your better bets. If you are looking for 7000 s.f. Older communities (i.e. 1980s - 1990s) in South County come into play.

Aliso Viejo is all master-planned, as are the other cities you mentioned. The lots in Aliso are not large because land is expensive near the coast, but some homes have canyon views. Here's what's available in AV for $1-1.5M (13 homes):

It might be worth your while to also take a look at San Juan Capistrano, since you are not concerned about schools. It's not master-planned. These are all $1-1.5 M:

Of course, there is Laguna Hills, and these are $1-1.5 M:

I don't know, but you can check Redfin.com to see what you get. Have you checked any of the links I gave you, especially those in Post #4?
