Here are some of my favorites (even though I can't have them too often due to dietary limitations). Many of mine are OC traditions. What are your favorites?

Gulliver's - Irvine
Five Crowns - Corona del Mar
The Red Pot - Garden Grove
Captain Jack's - Sunset Beach (kids love it)
Lumberyard - Laguna Beach
Gen Korean BBQ House - Huntington Beach
South of Nick's - San Clemente

Glad to see Gulliver's still exists, all the ones I knew up here are gone. Old school chop house.

Not that it needs any more crowds, I'll nonetheless plug Thiên Ân in Westminster.

Runner up - Myung In in Garden Grove.

Good List I like them all, I would add Dukes on Huntington Beach, great seafood.

I also enjoy a good doughnut at the Doughnut Derelicts cruise in on Saturday morning :-)

I'm going to go against the grain here and say no to Gulliver's. I had two bad meals there and will not ever be back.

Here are some of mine.
Five Crown's - CDM (But still wish there was a Lawry's closer than BH. The Carvery doesn't compare to eh ambience at Lawry's)
Bánh Mì Chè Cali - Westminster
Oshima - Orange
Honda-Ya - Tustin
The Hobbit - Orange

I was surprised to see banh mi che cali listed. I go to a place by that name in Huntington Beach, on the corner of Brookhurst and Talbert. It has the best deal on Banh Mi sandwiches I've ever seen. If you buy two you get one for free. That's three very good sandwiches for 6.50, and I recommend the bbq pork. I'm wondering if they are owned by the same people. Would be nice to know that deal is available there too.

Marche moderne. It used to be at South Coast Plaza, they are currently relocating to Crystal Cove.

One of the best fine dining bistros anywhere.

One of my favorites that I haven't seen listed here is the Cellar in Fullerton. Awesome food there.
I like HH at Guliver's but haven't been in a while.

Here's my list of random favorite restaurants. I should say that I don't think feel that these are the best (rather subjective) but places I enjoy for one reason or another:

1) Brodard - Westminster (favorite vegetarian spring rolls)
2) Pitfire Pizza - Costa Mesa
3) Wild Taco/Bear Flag - Balboa Peninsula
4) Taco Mesa - Costa Mesa
5) Kaya - Irvine
6) EMC Seafood - Irvine
7) Broadway - Laguna Beach
8) 101 Noodle Express - Irvine
9) Kang Ho-Dong Baekjeong - Irvine & Buena Park
10) Ngu Binh Restaurant - Westminster

Breakfast places:

1) Sessions - Balboa Peninsula
2) Rose Cafe - CDM (where else can you get a breakfast burrito AND a donut?)
3) Rooster - Costa Mesa (fresh and cheap)
4) Crave - Santa Ana
5) Cafe Calacas - Santa Ana (churro-waffle and horchata)

We use to like Stonehill Tavern at the St. Regis, but just not as much as we use to. We also liked Pinot Provence, but Patina Group in OC only seems to exist at Disneyland now.
