Also, if you want to try even more vegetarian food, stop by Native Foods in Aliso Viejo at Town Center (a few doors away from the movie theater).
Thanks Pacific! Actually, I have a friend who RAVES about Native Foods. I'll check it out. I do eat vegetarian (not vegan usually) fairly often, and lately, I have cut most of the red meat out of my diet. In and Out cravings are terrible since I largely quit red meat.

For protein, I mostly eat eggs, nuts, cheese, beans and chicken. But as a friend always reminds me, chickens are raised in deplorable conditions in the US.

In what parallel universe in Long Beach the "Berkeley/Boulder/Austin of So Cal"? It is the Detroit of So Cal.

You have proven you know absolutely nothing about Long Beach. There are many areas (South Long Beach along Ocean Blvd, Bixby Knolls, Country Club area along Long Beach Blvd) which Detroit could only dream of, which features some of the priciest real estate in SoCal.

Stop talking about a city you know absolutely nothing about besides what you heard in some random rap song on the radio. Thanks.

Actually, there are some pretty nice neighborhoods within Detroit.

Of course there are (Gross Pointe for example), but there is literally nothing in Detroit that is like or comparable to Ocean Blvd in Long Beach in both look, or price.

There are still nice neighborhoods with large beautiful homes located within the city of Detroit, like Palmer Woods, Boston-Edison, the Golf Club Section and Indian Village.

Gross Pointe is a nearby suburb of the city.

Detroit's riverfront has been undergoing a revitalization for several years.

Do you think Long Beach is the Detroit of SoCal?

Nope, not at all and I think the comment was uncalled for on several levels. There is a hell of a lot of ignorance out there.

Detroit underwent some very real devastation due to the collapse of the auto industry, and the subsequent flight of most of the middle class; leaving behind a lot of very poor people and not much of a tax base.

There are huge areas of Detroit that look like they have been bombed, but the city never underwent total collapse; near total, yes, but not total.

Long Beach never experienced any of that.

Still, several of Detroit's best neighborhoods have always had gorgeous homes; and sections like midtown and the riverfront are booming.

Detroit has a long road ahead, but money is starting to trickle back into the city.

Few people would believe this this, but there is still wealth both within Detroit and in its surrounding suburbs.

There are new millionaires both in and around the city, but there has also always been a lot of "old money" there. Joe Worker-Bee fled, but the tycoons stayed behind.

The 10 Biggest Millionaire Hot Spots In America - Business Insider

The big surprise on this list is Detroit, which claims 89,000 millionaires. Add that to a powerful city-wide depression and you've got an extreme wealth disparity
