Hi dear readers,
#
we have posted before... debating whether to move to Petaluma or Portland, Maine.... we are now also considering Newport Beach..... are there any readers with kids between 10 and 14 who would help me point out the "right" schools?

I used to live in the Bay Area in the 90s . I am a translator and will be a professional speaker (German, English, French) for studio work and audio books.

Are the any language immersion programs for English/German? My son is a US-citizen, so immigration ist not an issue. His English has suffered a bit despite his half brother in Northern California.

I am soo looking forward to your input. Thank you.

Cy

Newport beach is VERY nice. However, for most people it's rather an expensive place to live.

If you can afford Newport beach you can afford Malibu and your son will thank you for it.
Malibu High is a great school and the environment is one of a kind.
If the location is OK for you then give it some serious thought.

Look at El Durado School for Gifted Children in Orange. It is a very small school and each student gets a lot o findividualized attention. Their language classes vary depending on the language skills of the current teachers, but they treach a lot of children of ambassadors and visiting foreign businespersons. Some class sizes are as small as 4-10 kids. The schools is in an ugly location, but it is a great school. It is pretty pricy though.

Our kids loved it there.
