My husband and I live in La Grande, OR and so the Owyhee area isn't that far away. I would like to go explore the area before it gets too hot but in reading about the various areas (Honeycomb, chalk cliffs, etc) it sounds like it's a pretty rugged drive and maybe some hiking to reach those areas.

So, here's my question - is driving on all these primitive roads the only way to see the best sites? I have limited mobility and so I prefer to not venture too far off the main roads. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to see in the area that are still spectacular but more easily accessible? Thanks.
