I'm currently living in Albany, all set to move to Newport at the end of the month. The house I'll be living in is actually in South Beach. I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out who actually services that area for internet and phone. I'm used to the criminally overpriced Comcast here in the valley, but apparently they don't service the area and I'm not getting TV anyway, at least for a while. I will have to have a home phone, since my cell doesn't work at the house I'm moving in to. Anyone that actually lives there care to share their secrets? Thanks in advance!

Charter Spectrum Internet, $29.99 a month for the first 12 month, 60 Mbps down. I believe they will increase the speed to 100 Mbps soon.

I admit I don't know all the technicalities, but there's a cell tower right in South Beach. There are also dead areas along the coast. Forget the land line, if possible. Wife switched from Verizon to ATT, when she got her smart phone, years ago. No more problems with dead spots, except just north of Cape Foulweather. I have a Tracfone, and get good service anywhere.
Yes, Charter internet is pretty good here.

I looked into Charter, may have no other option. I will have no choice but to get a landline, unfortunately. My Verizon phone absolutely does not work at the house I'm moving into. Not sure about switching to ATT, sort of locked in with phone payments right now. Does anyone have any experience with Wave? I wish I could bundle internet and phone, but I'm not having any luck with that.
Thanks for the suggestions so far!

You should be able to get Internet + phone from Charter. It will be VoIP phone.

Will ATT buy out your contract?

Does ATT work where you're moving to?

OP, how old is your phone? Perhaps you don't need to change carriers, just phones. I was using an older s5 that struggled to get 2 bars pretty much everywhere and only 1 in my house. Now I have a new LG that is solid 5 all over. (T-Mobile)

I honestly have no clue if ATT works there, and I have a new iPhone 7. I can sit in that house and get no reception whatsoever. Of course, once I have wi-fi I can call other iPhone users, but not everyone has an iPhone. It's a little maddening, truth be told.
