Hi Im moving to Orlando from PC Beach, FL in about 3 weeks. Im 20 and my fiancee is 24. I worked as an assistant manager at a department store and worked in a local nightclub here taking cover. My fiancee is a cook and will be going back to school. Im wondering how difficult it is to find jobs in Orlando. We come from a tiny town entirely built on tourism and the only time you can find a job here is from the months of February till September. We are used to working hard to find a good job. Im wondering is it that dead in Orlando? The cost of living there is higher than it is here so is minimum pay higher? Minimum wage is 7.25 and here, when you start you get just that and not a dollar more. We were hoping most entry level will start at $9 or 10 dollars an hour.
Also, we are looking to live in the metro west area and went to visit a week ago and found a place called Lexington Park. We really liked it but read horrible reviews on apartmentratings.com so If anyone would know anything about it that would be great! Thanks!

Jobs are quite difficult right now, especially in the service economy as that's what Orlando is primarily made up of. You might do slightly better in areas closest to Disney as they're difficult to get for many in terms of transportation and distance. With your experience and determination you'll probably be okay. I would make sure you have significant savings (4 or 5 months worth minimum) if you don't secure a job before moving. Don't pay a lot of attention to apartment rating websites. Very few residents who have positive experiences take the time to write a review, whereas anyone with a bone to pick (the verbal minority) is most likely going to let it rip. You might also take a look at areas closer to Disney to live, as that's most likely where you're going to find work.
