I moved to Lake Mary from the north this summer and I was wondering where Floridians store some stuff. We like to grill a lot so we always had a spare propane tank ready to go it the one we were using ran out while in the middle of cooking a meal. I used to keep the spare in a shed quite a distance from the house. Thanks to my HOA I don't have a shed yet but even when I get one isn't it too hot to put a propane tank in it? Same goes for the red plastic gas container holding a gallon or two for the gardening tools. Used to keep it in the garage up north. My garage has hit over one hundred degrees twice this summer. I can't put it in there. So what do you guys do, where do you store this stuff?

We store our gas cans in our garage far from the water heater. Our garage is always cooler than outside and never even thought about storing them elsewhere. Doesn't it take a really high temp like 500-1000 degree F for the vapors to ignite on their own without a fire source anyway?

We store the gas can in the garage. Our grill is built-in and uses the natural gas that's piped into the house by the gas company, otherwise we'd store the spare tank for that in theg arage as well.

I buy enough gas to mow the lawn and then dump any extra into the car gas tank. Why have a potential gas bomb sitting there?

You're kidding yourself if you think that gas is the only explosive in your garage.
