Florida Population Growth Rate (1990-2000) - 23.5%

Seems that is quite a lot of folks that came to live in FL over a 10 year period.

This report shows that every state did not have a population increase over the years.

I see Florida's growth rate as 17.6 % for 2000-10, behind quite a few states on a percentage basis. As far as pure numbers, Florida ranked 3rd behind Texas and California. With the state of the economy, we'll see how the numbers look after 2011. I suspect the numbers will drop when folks have to go elsewhere to find work.

You can wish for and applaud all the population growth you want ... but if the infrastructure and job supply can't support the population growth, is it really growth or just overcrowding ?

Why not? Beautiful weather, the beauty of the nature that abounds, the variety of different areas, large cities, small towns, rural areas, cosmopolitan areas, laid back backwaters, the choices are there. You can even have a little of everything depending on where you want to live in this vast and diversified state.
How can anyone consider Florida weather beautiful?????..Its a humidity laden , heat box..you can have it.

I don't know where people would go to find work. Seems to be a pretty much national problem as far as jobs go. I would not say FL is overcrowded in the least bit. Lots and lots of open space out there.

Yep, and let's keep it that way ... Florida is already 8th on the list of most populous states per square mile. You want to be the next New Jersey or Rhode Island ?

I disagree, Texas is first for me. Texas has everything you want. From desert to mountains, culture, some of the largest cities and corporations in America, South Padre Island, can go to Mexico if that's your thing, HILLS, cold weather to hot weather. Texas state fair. You name it they got it and much more variety of entertainment options such as concerts, B list celeb shows, grocery stores, better zoning.

That said, Orlando and Central Fl aren't that bad, but there are many many better options.

California is better than FL, but not by much IMO
