I'm at the love-hate aspect of my relationship with South Florida. When I first moved down here it was paradise and now to me personally, it's out of control. Like I said, I'm sure Orlando has it's problems but at the very least, it's cheaper to live up there right???

My friend who lives up there told me about an area, that's not celebration, where the houses in the development are northern style? Does anyone know of that area?

We lived in Stuart Fl so I think Central Florida is much better than South Florida. Traffic, crime, home prices, are much better up here and UCF is a very good college. The Orlando area has a huge number of homes, areas to look at so you can find a nice home at an affordable price. Also, home insurance was cheaper up here. We looked at Gainesville (too small), Tampa (sink holes, water shortage), Jacksonville (poor schools), St. Augustine (too small) and Orlando. Orlando works for us, but take a visit before moving here so you can get a good look. Also, you might consider renting wherever you move to so you can really look at all the homes, areas etc...One drawback about Orlando area is I-4, which has just too many accidents so if you moved here avoid that road for a daily communte. I also think with gas prices, moving closer to the city/job is worth it. Good luck!

So how would those that have lived in SFL rank the stress level compared to living in CFL. Would you say that the stress level is less in the central parts of the state?

Not even a fair contest. Central FL by miles and miles. Even without kids, I eventually got sick of the traffic and general lifestyle of south FL. Quite frankly, anything south of Jupiter is unlivable for me

That is what I thought. What part of Central Florida do you happen to live in?

I've heard that both Winter Spings and Winter Haven are good areas. Is that true?
