I know that there are a ton of othese relocation questions but I have another one for you. My partner was offered a position with a restaurant that is opening in the area, and we are both interested in relocating. We currently live in Baltimore MD.My concern is my ability to find employment. I am currently a trainer at a call center for a publishing company. Would I be able to find employment like this in the Orlando area? Also what type of salary would I be looking at? Im afraid that it would be much less than I make now.

There are a number of call centers in the area though being hired into a higher paid supervisor's job probably wouldn't be easy from outside the company, or long distance. I would say you are pretty accurate regarding the pay differential. According to the payscale comparison sites the average salary is 20% lower in Orlando than Baltimore which seems on the low side, but also no doubt encompasses hourly wage employees too which doesn't affect the professional sector salaries as much in the averaging process. The gap in professional level salaries is pretty well documented here in Orlando and across much of Florida. Living costs are fairly similar between the two cities other than housing, which is much less if purchasing here versus Baltimore and around 15%-20% less in rentals in the Orlando area.
