We are spending the holidays in central Florida with family (Haines City to be exact). My husband and I need to go out and have some fun. We have a 2 year old that we are going to be "free" of for the first time in literally his entire life, while he hangs out with his grandparents (yay!). We are dying to get out and dance and have a good time, we need a serious break. We are 30-somethings, I don't want to end up at a bar/club with a bunch of 18 year olds. I want to dance, drink, and have a good time.

Any suggestions for Orlando?

Check out Universal Orlando. It's not too far from Haines City and offers a lot of options in one spot.

I second CityWalk (the area kyle19125 mentioned) because there is definitely a lot to do there..though it can be very touristy.

If you want something a little more local though, I'd suggest Bar Louie or Blue Martini. They're going to be a little more expensive (some will call them "bougie"), but that only helps with keeping out the bunch of obnoxious 18 year olds as you requested. Bar Louie is in an area called Dr Phillips which is only about 30 min out from Haines City, has indoor & outdoor seating & sometimes has bands that play inside...and Blue Martini is only another 5-10 min down I-4 connected to the Mall at Millenia. You mentioned you'd be here "for the Holidays," so depending on what night you'd actually like to go (you can always go more than once of course:-)), I know on Thursdays & Sundays Bar Louie has a late night happy hour after 10pm where they have $3 drafts, $4 wines, & 1/2 price appetizers. Not sure if Blue Martini has drink specials on the weekends, but Wednesdays are ladies night (free cover & 1/2 off drinks) and on Sunday I believe they have a live band.

Of the two, I'd recommend Bar 1st then Blue 2nd. Hope you have some fun! :-)
