I stopped into Dollar Days (dollar store) today on 17/92 and 434 in Longwood by the old Albertson's. The owner had a petition going to open up a Walmart in the old Albertson's. He submitted it to Walmart and was informed they will be putting a Neighborhood Market in that building and also the old Albertson's in Lake Mary. This is good news and I'm glad to hear it.

Enjoy. I really like the smaller-footprint Walmart concepts like the Neighborhood market and express stores.

Much easier to get around than a traditional wal-mart but you get the low prices. The neighborhood market feels like a nice grocery store (although I can't say I've examined the produce there, something I find suspect at regular wal-mart stores)

I think this is walmarts new business model. They are building one at the old albertsons location at michigan and orange also. Curiously its in the same plaza as a publix so we shall see how that plays out.

Yeah. The SuperTarget didn't seem to do too much damage to the Orange/Michigan Publix, so we'll see how Walmart does.

I guess the bigger worry is FreshField Farms (Momma's Meats & Papa's Produce). However, that place is crazy packed, so I think they have a loyal following. I assume the loyal customers are going there more for quality than price anyway.

I love Freshfields Farm and will continue to shop there once the Walmart goes in. And really, the prices at FF cannot be beat as long as you stay away from the *few* expensive items.

I shop at all 3 (sodo target, publix, and freshfield) and they all have their strength and are clustered near each other. Not sure where walmart will fit into my rotation.

I can tell you what happened when they put a Walmart Market about a mile from one of the Publix here in Palm Bay. Publix sales went down about 20% during the grand opening , but the 2nd week that it was open sales were back up to normal at the Publix . To tell you the truth I don't know one person who shops at the Walmart Market. Location might be the problem. For most of us there is a SuperWalmart, a Publix, a Winn Dixie closer to where we live and the prices are not good enough to drive too.

We've had the Walmart Market for over 10 years here in Melbourne. Personally have never walked through the door so not sure what they are like.

They are pretty much the Walmart grocery store and not all the other stuff Walmart sells. I like a Super Walmart better but I'll be happy with the Neighborhood Market. Most of the time I go to Walmart, it's for groceries but sometimes for the other things. I don't buy meat at Walmart though. I go to Albertson's in Altamonte once every 6 weeks when the meat is on sale. I stock up then.

I use the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Winter Springs. I find it adequate and the prices are good.
