I currently live in the Uptown Altamonte area, and while I enjoy my area right now, I moved here without knowing the area too much. Before I sign another year lease, I want to at least get out and explore things.

I am not looking for much, as I am single with no pets. Since I don't want to be single with no pets for the rest of my life, I am drawn to the fact that downtown might have more singles. A more urban area would be nice too, although Altamonte is certainly busy.

So, I guess to sum it up, I am basically willing to go up to $900-$950 or so to move downtown. I just feel like any more, and I can't justify moving. I'd rather invest or spend the money on other things. Does anyone have an idea as far as where to look?

Yeah, that Camden on Orange and Colonial just opened. It's quite large and I'm sure you can get a good deal.

Camden, Steel House, North Park (sp?), and the Grande. The Grande is the only one in downtown. The others are on the northern edge and near a very loud train. I believe a 1/1 1000 sq ft at the Grande is going for ~$950.

There are a few within you price range. Also try looking to the south end of downtown there are some good deals to be had there as well.

I never understood why the train has to blare its horn the entire time it travels through downtown. Are the flashing lights and ringing bells at every crossing not enough? Are too many people sleeping on train tracks?

Never underestimate the stupidity of some people. Many will try to "beat the train" and cross even while the barricades are coming down, because stopping and waiting for the train to pass would make them late for their
'pressing engagements" SMH. Sorry for going off topic.

You are correct! I forgot about SODO. That place is connected to a Target! Great concept IMO.
