I accepted a job in Osceola school district and moving from NY. Can I have any suggestions for apartments that are pet friendly maximum $1000 rent? Young couple with the necessities around the area. Have been looking at Hunter Creek area but wasn't sure if any recommendations for a more affordable Kissimmee area? ANY tips and recommendations would help!

Hunter Creek would be the more expensive side of town--will you be at the main administration campus on Bill Beck Blvd.? If so, Hunter Creek is actually a pretty fair commute, because there's no good direct way to get from Hunter Creek to Bill Beck! There are many apartment complexes, but Hunter Creek is very nice, new, and seems very safe and friendly. Other areas closer to Bill Beck aren't nearly so nice, except parts of St. Cloud are very close, and I would think would be perfect for you. If you're going to be at a particular school, could you give a little closer location, please? Good luck with your search! I moved down from Kansas City a year ago, and I know what it's like!

St Cloud is actually about 45 minutes away versus 30 to Hunters Creek. I saw Verano apartments in Kissimmee, but I don't know how the area is or anything.

Okay, Poinciana is the far southwest side of the county. There have been a huge number of foreclosures down there, so houses are cheap, but from what I've heard (and I'm no expert on the area), crime has gone up. Lately, it looks like foreclosures are slowing down, so that may be getting better. If I were you, I'd look at the crime reports first, then figure out your neighborhoods/towns from that. A quick look for rentals in Poinciana shows many houses for less than $1000, so I would think apartments wouldn't be too high. (I saw a 2/2 townhouse for $750, for ex.) I also know there are several newer developments, including apartment complexes, near The Loop (John Young & Osceola Pkwy) in Kissimmee, which would be a little closer than Hunters Creek. I've driven by some along Dyer Blvd (near the new HH Gregg and Publix) that look very nice.

Poinciana is actually very close to the rural parts of the county, and is even in Polk County as well. Are you supposed to stay within Osceola Co? Because really, Haines City is much closer to Poinciana than Hunter Creek, so it really depends on what you want/need in an apartment. Good luck!
