We are a family of four and have secured a place in the Avalon Park/ Stoneybroook Golf Course area. I have checked the school my son will go to and it is rated very highly. I am wondering what locals think and know of the area? Is it quiet? Safe? I just don't want to be in a run down trashy area with our children. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

It's a very congested area, I lived there until about 3 years ago. Alafaya trail was being widened then which I believe was recently completed. I would think that would have relieved the traffic some, but from what I heard, they have added even more residential projects throughout Avalon Park Boulevard. The older elementary schools there are quite good ( Stone Lakes and Avalon), I've heard mixed reviews about all the other schools. The area is definitely not trashy ( for the most part). Although IMO, it is on a slow decline. It's relatively safe, although property crime was on the rise when we moved. I certainly hope you are renting before any sort of long term commitment.

You make a good deciaion to be here in Avalon Park. It is the best in Orange County to live in. A plus schools in all the neighbourhood.
