Hello everyone. We are going to relocate to Florida. We currently live in Southern California. My husband and I met in Destin , Fl. I was living there with my sister at the time. After we got married, we moved back to California. My husband was born and raised in the Orlando area, mostly fern park. But he has not been there in years. We are putting our house up for sale in California. It's just getting too expensive out here. We considered moving to a few other states but Florida has won out. My sister lives in Tampa, and most of my husbands family lives in the Orlando, or Deltona area. We are both in the medical field. I'm a respiratory therapist, he is a clerk for the imaging dept(radiology). We will both get jobs before we come so no worries there. We have 3 kids: 12,7,4. Two boxers dogs, a cat, a guinea pig, a lizard, and partridge in a pear tree. Just kidding. We are looking for family friendly areas, good schools. I like a house just listed on realtor.com it is located on 174 grace blvd in Altamonte springs. We will hopefully make quite a good profit from the sale of our home but we don't really want to spend more than about 180,000-200,000( hopefully less, emphasis on less))for a 4 bedroom 2 bath home. A pool would be great. My biggest worries are the move across the country. Any info on the area is appreciated, as well any folks who made big moves like this. Did you rent first? How did you rent a place out of state so it was ready to move when you got there? Did you take everything with you? Use pods, or abf, upack? Sell almost everything? We want to buy a home. But if we have to rent first so we can look around the area and choose the right house then we will. Thank you for reading this big long novel of a thread.

I've got a house that's ready to be moved into... 4 bedroom - 2 bath - pool - lockable gated fenced in back yard - doggy door - caged pool area - quiet neighborhood in Riverview... Great schools, close to I-75 - newly painted inside and out - new carpet - updated window treatments - new commodes, heck, why did I move????

We are financially secure. We own a home now. We will sell it before we move. We would use the sale of the home to purchase a new home in Florida. But we need to look around. Our first home took a few months to choose and close on. We were out bid a few times etc. so, moving to Florida we would need time to get a feel for which area sounds right. Deltona, Altamonte springs, new Smyrna, deland all have come up. That is why renting first seems like a better idea.
