Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to get boxes from up north to the Orlando area? It's not enough to rent a UHaul or Pod and UPS might be too expensive.
I know about Amtrak and Greyhound shipping freight. Is there a message board where you can post a request and maybe catch someone driving south that would take some boxes along?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would be wary of giving boxes of my stuff to a total stranger.

If they are books (and only books) the USPS offers some pretty competitive rates.

You might also want to contact a freight company about palletizing them and shipping common carrier. You won't get a definitive delivery date, but it would probably be the cheapest option.

I know a few people who used Greyhound shipping and never had a problem with them. I'd contact them for a quote if you think USPS would be too much. Compare and see which deal is better. DO NOT trust your things with a total stranger.. not a good idea.

be careful with shipping heavy boxes with usps. I tried shipping my books from NY to Fl.... it was a disaster! I used heavy duty shipping boxes and did not over-weigh them. All boxes broke during transit and I ended up losing stuff (lost! gone! kaput!) USPS didn't care...

How many boxes are you talking about? Looking at a pallet freight company might work...
