Yes they are, I know people who live in both subdivisions. I would however not recommend Celery Key as much due to the lack of upkeep in a good number of homes, which isn't ideal if you're planning to invest in buying and stay awhile. There's an HOA present at Celery Key but I would guess it was one of those communities hit very hard by the housing crisis that's still in process of recovering (or may never). I know Sanford very well having lived here for many years cumulatively so if you need help with other neighborhoods in terms of questions (or even suggestions) I'd be more than happy to help. You'll hear in some instances people making broad statements about Sanford minus any kind of actual knowledge, so bear that in mind. It is a nice area to live in largely with some good real estate values compared to places like Lake Mary/Heathrow, which shares the very same amenities.

Default Sanford

Kyle19125 yes I would like to know what other neighborhoods in sanford are considered safe and desirable. If you know anything about Longwood, Winter Springs or Altamonte, that would be great too.

There are many great neighborhoods in Sanford. Some of the more established ones with older homes like Kaywood, Idyllwilde, Mayfair, Evans Terrace, San Lanta and Loch Arbor along with newer neighborhoods like Monterey Oaks, Dakotas, Retreat At Twin Lakes, Sandstone, Lake Forest, Astor Farms, Preserve at Lake Monroe, Sylvan Lake, Forest Glen, Venetian Bay and many others.

They killed Trayvon Martin out there in Sanford. That's what it's mainly know for to most people.

Despite that it still is good place to raise a family and those type of shootings can happen anywhere.

A narrow-minded approach perhaps from the narrow-minded who glean information about cities from reading headlines. Not much one can do about that...There's much more to Sanford than that if one has any sense of what it's like via actually visiting. Also as an FYI where the incident took place is much closer to prim and proper Lake Mary than most of the rest of Sanford.

How is the Goldsboro community? Specifically, W 7th st area? Any areas of Sanford you'd recommend staying away from? I read that Midway was a bad area.

Where on West 7th Street? It's okay east of 17-92 and not known as Goldsboro there. Midway and most of Goldsboro probably account for 3/4 of the victim crime in Sanford, so not the best options obviously.
