Hi guys,
We are wondering what areas that are about a half hour drive out from DisneyWorld you guys feel are the best little towns or cities? We would preferably like to be north of DisneyWorld if that helps to give you some ideas.
Our daughter will be in college so schools aren’t of importance but we would like a safe area and nearby great little downtown.

We currently live in Southern California about a half hour from Disneyland and will be moving to Florida to be by family/friends. They live in Tampa area but we want to be closer to the parks.

Here’s what we’re looking for.
3br plus flex
2+ baths
Single level preferably
Max $350,000

Thanks for any help

Winter Garden although mostly 2 stories, often master downstairs though. Quick route to Disney and Tampa on the 429.

350K is a bit light in the budget unfortunately so would urge you to consider the other direction out from Disney. The Winter Haven/Cypress Gardens area has some very nice housing (much is new construction) at your price point and in close proximity to quaint downtown Winter Haven as well as 30 minutes to the WDW gate.

Thank you guys for the replies is there anybody on here who lives in Minneola or Clermont and can you tell me the pros & cons as it looks like it’s an up and coming community but wanted to hear firsthand.
We also are liking the looks of Mount Dora we know it’s a little further to the parks but looks like a really neat area?

I am in a similar situation. One kid in HS and the other in college.
Prices have been going crazy high. I started looking in the winter garden area with $350k, and now I am in the high $400k.

Have you looked into Ocoee? Some people like it, some don’t. Perhaps other can chime in about that area.

Windermere? Winter Park? Apopka?
I heard good things about Oviedo but it is not cheap.

Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to find something decent in Windermere of Winter Garden for $350K.
Oviedo is waaaay too far
Mount Dora is also nowhere within 30 min drive from Disney.

I would suggest looking at Clermont. Unlike the rest of Orlando metro, this area has some hills which, coming from CA you will likely appreciate. The area is developing quickly, and infrastructure is growing immensely. You can get to south entrance to Disney in less than 20 mins. Also, Lake Louise state park is right there, so choices of outdoor activities are plenty, yet, shopping and dining is right there also.
In you price range, you should have more options there than in other areas named in this thread.

Good luck in your search!
