... to move to?

What I'm looking for:

1. Doesn't have to be a gated community, but can be. Looking for a HOA or condo so that maintenance is handled by someone else.
2. Built up or soon to be built up to the point where it has or will soon have restaurants, Target/Walmart, supermarkets, movie theaters, etc.
3. Ahem ... trying to put this in the most diplomatic way that I can ... is the most similar (notice I didn't say "is the same" or "is similar" because I don't expect that) to South Florida or Tampa/St. Pete areas in terms of the population, diversity, etc. I've already been to Clermont and Clermont did not appear to be it.

4. Not too far from a major airport, but not too close to the congestion of Disney (say at least 15-30 minutes away).
5. A major medical center with a good reputation within 15-30 minutes.

Thanks in advance!

L.

Lake Nona.

Also, no idea what you mean on point 3… Miami and Tampa/St. Pete are nothing alike… And Orlando feels so
We here between the two.

So South Florida (Palm Beach and Broward) + Tampa/St. Pete generally speaking ... are dominated primarily by middle class communities that most people would consider either urban or suburban as opposed to rural. I'm speaking here in the context of the residents themselves, not the landscape.

Lake Mary-Heathrow or Wekiva would provide more diversity which appears to be the issue with Clermont given it's segregated largely Caucasian White. Lake Mary-Heathrow has a very visible mixed ethnicity as does Wekiva, albeit maybe a bit less. Both are pretty much built-out but not overly congested traffic-wise like many of the other suggestions. Both areas have all of the conveniences you need within minutes. It's about 40 minutes to Disney and smooth-sailing largely via the 417 from Lake Mary-Heathrow and about 30 minutes/equally smooth-sailing from Wekiva via the 429. It's about 30-35 minutes for both to Orlando International or 15-20 minutes to Sanford-Orlando International (if Allegiant serves your destination). AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is about 15 minutes from Lake Mary-Heathrow as well as Wekiva.

Price point and what Tampa or Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods specifically would you want to be similar to? I’ve lived in all three places.

Good questions. Price point for a home or condo perhaps $300K-$600K. I'm not as familiar with Tampa/St. Pete/Sarasota area as I am with South Florida. But perhaps something like Boynton/Delray, Coral Springs, Wellington, etc. Again, I'm speaking about the character of the neighborhood, but also about the character of the residents. I'm not a member of a minority group, but I want to move to an area where people of various ethnic groups would feel welcome.

Most of Seminole County (the areas Kyle mentioned) would fit the bill in this regard. Definite nod to Heathrow.

At that price range, you might be able to find something nice even in Winter Park.
