They claim that they need more money for more projects, but wait, if less people are traveling than why do they need more projects? How about they cut a few hundred thousand off the Expressway CEO's bonus (which is in the millions) and than maybe they would have more money. Politicians around here are so stupid. If they increase the tolls even less people will travel the roads and than what will they do. It's a lose-lose situation.

Even taxis and limos will have to increase their rates to make up the difference.

It's a terrible idea considering how much money they waste. Again I advocate that any new roads they build should pay for themselves so there should be no need to raise tolls on other roads.

Keep in mind that the last time they raised tolls was well over 10 years ago. I know everyone loves to harp on the tolls, but what product or service isn't more expensive today than a decade ago? While the timing is unfortunate, the cost of business goes up in price over time just like everything else.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I do not work for the Expressway Authority. I used to commute on the 417, and paying $2 for the Lake Jesup bridge is a bit much. But, toll roads are a voluntary cost. Surface streets may be slower and less convenient, but they're a free alternative.

Man these guys are idiots. Its like they fail to realize that Orlando is a tourism based economy and most people need to work at least 2 jobs to make it. What a bunch of tools Orange County has for politicians. I guarantee you even less people will be traveling on these ripoff roads now. And then people wonder why this city never progresses. A dam shame. Tax the tourists more, not the locals, and bring casinos inland for God's sake. Join the 21st century already Orlando!! There's so many ways to make $ here and there just wasting it and making all the wrong decisions. Can't wait for election time to get rid of all these wise-guys around here. Pathetic.

I'm sure I'll get dinged for this -- but this is what you get with Republican leadership. I'm watching the same bunch of people cry about taxes being raised on people who make over $250K a year. OMG! That's so awful! But hardly anybody makes over $250K a year! Even as part of a couple!

It is the first raise in 20 years actually according to 105.1 Radio. If .25 extra a day or even $1.00 is going to break someone then I honestly do feel sorry for them. Maybe they can drink one less starbucks or cut back on smoking or any other vice we all might have.

I heard, acouple years ago, that the toll roads have all been paid for. At that time, they were talking about stopping tolls. Now, they want a hike. PPL are really struggling at this point and this is the lst thing we need. It doesn't really affect me b/c I rarely travel the toll road.

THis is a bad idea at an even worse time. Like "Noodles" mentioned, there are other ways of raising the revenue and isn't the toll hike used to fund this Wekiva highway project in the middle of nowhere? There aren't, as usual, many sound reasons for doing this and keep in mind that there will be toll hikes in 2012. It's not so much the price at each toll but the number of tolls in Orange County. It seems like there's one every 7-8 miles. More toll hikes for useless projects. No different than our useless Congress wasting money at every opportunity.

I am sure they are paid for - just like Disney's parking lot. But the question is who is going to pay for the upgrades to the roads? I hear people complain how bad they are and then I hear people complain they have to pay .25 more a day yet they go out to eat at Outback later that night. I am against a lot of Orlando government, but the complaining about this makes no sense to me. How will we pay for our roads?
