Thanks for the post... opened my eyes. I purchased a dog with my ex-gf about 7 years ago, very bad decision. It was a fad dog, maltese--which she begged for and I was against at the time. The inevitable happened and we broke up and she didn't want him. While I didn't want such a froofy dog, I could never look him in the eyes and decide to give him away. I don't understand how someone can do that? A dog will do anything for their master, wouldn't someone try to do the same for the dog? Karma works in weird ways, it'll come back around to these irresponsible owners in one way or another.

Laws are needed to enforce responsible pet ownership, that's the only way to resolve this mess.

Default seminole county/altamonte springs abandoned pets

hello, i am cross-posting along the same lines, please. this is two posts combined into one about this found cat.

here is a cat in my area-

he's very sweet and mellow. forgive me if i'm not placing this notice in the correct spot! i've been posting on lost/found pet sites for quite a while this evening.

this cat has been outside for several weeks, and at one time he wore a collar because the impression is still on his fur. seems very lost/abandoned, and rather thin. i've been feeding him, and i'm sure the people around me will call animal services to pick him up as most are unkind to stray animals around here. i actually saw people shaking their fists at him and making a lot of noise chasing him around. what is the matter with people thinking on the subject of strays- that these poor, dear animals really want to be unloved?

anyway, i hope someone out there reading this will please be so kind to share the info so that he can be reunited with his humans.

he's lovely, several years old, yellow eyes, black and white, and looks like he's wearing a cap/beret with his markings.

i'm not far from maitland going through back roads. i'm in altamonte off northlake blvd.

SUpport is much appreciated! i really do wish that some people would stop calling others who care about animal welfare such names as 'flaky, crazy, save them all advocate/activist, tree-hugging,' and so on!

also, i find a lot of the time when the mindset is ''oh, she'll find a home for him/her,'' and/or ''oh, she'll handle it, she always does,'' it is not very helpful at all. does it seem like that will help someone in the name of stewardship? it appears the epitome of complacency in this very large scenario of unwanted/abandoned homeless pets -- and humans!

takes a bit more than one person to find a home for these guys; sure, one person gets the wheel rolling, but i cannot do this alone.

thank you.
