The Sedano's (which replaced the 436/Curry Ford Albertson's) opened last weekend, and that is the most crowded grocery store lot I've EVER seen. It is packed this weekend too. I wonder how Las Americanas (or whatever it is called) on 436 near Stonewall Jackson Rd is doing in the wake of Sedanos moving in.

I saw all the new Sedano's employees in the parking lot the other day, I guess they were having a meeting or something.....they were ALL hispanic. Not a single AA or White person there. Its sad, because its to the point now in Kissimmee if your not Hispanic you cant get a job. The Albertsons that was there previously had a good mix of ethnicities. *Sigh* Like I previously posted, I am mixed (AA/White) I applaud diversity, and enjoy aspects of the hispanic culture, but someone needs to monitor the employers around here and make sure they are hiring fairly, and not using the "spanish speaking requirement" to shut out whole sections of the population.

that Albertsons and the whole shopping plaza is actually pretty old. At least over a decade old.

But yes, they are closing, my cousin will be losing his part time job as a result of it. The one on red bug isn't far at all though. about 10 mins down the same street as the one in Oviedo.

But at least a brand new Aldi just opened up next to the shopping plaza.

There also used to be another Albertsons off Alafaya a few miles south of the Oviedo store at the 50 intersection where scoop and the DMV is. It closed down years ago and now its a pretty successful gym that is rapidly expanding throughout the area and has plans to open up across the country.

Well, at least it seems to be doing well already. I asked someone in Miami how the store was and he said he didn't really like it, just kind of old, 70s style. Not sure if the new stores are different. That said, I'm sticking with Publix/Target.

The Albertson's on Lake MAry Blvd and 17/92 is closing too. I contacted Aldi to let them know. I thought that would be a great location for them. I like Aldi.

According to Albertson's website (news section) GFS bought a bunch of their warehouse space.

I'd love it if there was a GFS in town. Miss those. They had them all over in Ohio.

Come on, it's a Hispanic store. How often do you see Hispanics working at Chinese restaurants?
