We are moving to Orlando and need advice about areas. My husband is working inMaitland and we are looking for a great area to live in. We would prefer that his commute was 30 minutes or less but our search is pretty specific. We need a 4 bedroom fairly decent size house for 150k-250k. We like newer homes, safe and newer communities, plus have all the necessities close by aka grocery, restaurants, etc. We've been looking at all over and just getting overwhelmed by what is nice and what is run down.

Info specifically on
Windermere
Winter Garden
Lake Nona (North Shore and Eagle Creek but other neighborhoods as well please)
Lake Mary

Any other recommendations?
TIA

Your agent should be able to send you all the newer homes currently listed for sale in good shape.

There are newer communities throughout the back side of Disney/Windermere/Winter Garden area zoned 'Horizon West' (urban living).

Lake Mary has many some newer communities but 'New Communities' are higher priced due to land cost (running out).

Lake Nona is hot due to the Medical City and some communities require you drive to shop but that is changing as rumor is retail is coming (OBJ scoop).

Hope this helps,

Although the houses are older in Maitland, it is still a very nice area to live with very excellent schools. I would also suggest Winter Park. All the areas you had mentioned are quite a distance from Maitland and will most likely be longer than a thirty minute commute. Good luck on your move!

Check out Lake Mary & Sanford. Great schools and many great neighborhoods. Lake Mary was ranked #96 in Money's Top 100 Best Places to Live.
