I recently moved to Melbourne with my wife, and we are driving to Orlando tomorrow. We are going to Ikea and Costco, among other things, and are trying to find the cheapest/quickest route there. I found 2 routes on Google Maps. The first is the quickest route, and the second is without tolls. How much are the tolls on the first route, and how much longer would the second route take? We are just trying to weigh the pros and cons.

TMI in your post, it made me dizzy.

Take I-95 north and get on the 528 (Beachline) Get off exit 4 southbound onto South OBT (17-92) and drive maybe a mile. Costco will be on your right just past the Toyota dealer.

Then take South OBT (17-92) north to Americana Blvd--it's about 5 miles--and turn left. Follow that about 2 miles, IKEA will be on the left just before Mall of Millenia. To go back to Melbourne, take Americana back to South OBT and get on the Beachline eastbound to I-95.

That's the cheapest route, unless you take all back roads from Melbourne--which will cost more in gas then you save in tolls. Total tolls with the above route I gave you, $5-6 total. (I use Sunpass, so I'm not sure of teh exact amount, but that's within a dollar.)

There are 3 tolls on the Beachline ... the furthest East is $1.50 the one by the airport is $1 and the last one is also a dollar so the total each way is $3.50 the way to save. You can run down Sandlake and avoid the 2 dollar tolls which is pretty convenient to where you are going. you would take (N) John Young to (L)Conroy for Ikea...

Default Thanks...

Thank you both. I have a GPS, so on the way up, I chose the option to avoid toll roads, once we got through the first toll on 528. We ended up taking a detour that probably added on about 20 minutes. So on the way back, we just took 528 all the way.

Next time, we might try your suggestions. Thanks again.
