Good morning everyone
Happy Monday

I hope everyone had a great weekend !!

I had to get some work done this morning so it is a later start to

Today's Question(s):

I know the QOTD family is a pretty inventive/creative bunch so lets see just how creative you have been

What have you used as a "substitute" when you couldn't find a:
** more than one answer is encouraged !!! ***
Hammer ?
Screw driver ?
Beer, wine or regular bottle opener ?
Rolling Pin ?
Ironing Board ?
Saw ?
Pen or pencil to write down a number or message ?

Any creative "substitutes" I forgot that you have used ?

Extra Credit Question:

Lets expand on the Ironing Board topic !!

Do you have one or more in your home ?

Is it new or older ?

Last time you used it ?

Where does it "live" ?

Have you or anyone else ever used it for something other than its intended purpose ?

Bonus Question:

When was the last time you Procrastinated doing something ?

Just for Fun:

Oops have you ever gone the wrong way on a one-way street ?

Today in History:
1617 - 1st one-way streets open (London)
1869 - 1st carload of freight (boots and shoes) arrives in SF, from Boston
1904 - Harry D. Weed of New York state patented the grip-tread tire chain for automobiles
1943 - "LIFE" magazine spotlighted a dance craze that was sweeping the U.S.A. -- the Lindy Hop. The Lindy was named after American aviation hero Charles A. Lindbergh

Word of the Day:
distrain \ dih-STREYN \ , verb;
1. To seize the property of (a person) in order to compel payment of debts.
2. To levy a distress upon.

Today is:
National Sponge Cake Day
Buttered Corn Day
National Gymnastics Day
Singing in the Rain Day
Weird Contest Day
Procrastination Day
One-way Street Day

******

P.S. a special thank you to Elston for providing the inspiration for some of today's questions !!!

What have you used as a "substitute" when you couldn't find a:
** more than one answer is encouraged !!! ***
Hammer ?
Meat tenderiser, shoe, lump of wood (none very effective)
Screw driver ?
Kitchen knife, letter opener, nail file (all fairly effective)
Beer, wine or regular bottle opener ?
I have so many of these, I can always find one!
Rolling Pin ?
Milk bottle (in the days when milk came in a glass bottle)
Ironing Board ? Dining room table, kitchen bench
Saw ?
Hmm... can't think of any substitute, much less one I have used
Pen or pencil to write down a number or message ?
I just repeat the number out loud as I run around the house looking for a pen.

Any creative "substitutes" I forgot that you have used ?
I'm sure there are several... but nearly bedtime here... brain no longer functioning properly.

Extra Credit Question:

Lets expand on the Ironing Board topic !!

Do you have one or more in your home ?
Just the one
Is it new or older ?
Pretty old

Last time you used it ?
Hmmm - 3 months ago maybe??
Where does it "live" ?
At the back of the cupboard in the laundry

Have you or anyone else ever used it for something other than its intended purpose ?
My daughter used to use it (covered with a sheet), as a stage for her puppet shows!I've never cleaned fish on it, or used it as a drinks stand though!

Bonus Question:

When was the last time you Procrastinated doing something ?
Every darn day!

Just for Fun:

Oops have you ever gone the wrong way on a one-way street ?
Yes, but not by accident (very short street right near where I used to live... coming home in the dead of night... short cut!!)

Have a great week!
