ICE CUBES TASTE BAD?
Food can transfer odors and tastes to ice. Even food in the refrigerator compartment can transfer an odor or taste to the freezer, causing bad tasting ice.
There are several conditions that can cause an odor or taste in your ice:
Open food containers or spilled foods.
Low ice usage. Old or stale ice will absorb food odors. If you haven't used your ice for a while, replace it with fresh cubes.
Bad water supply. Sulfur, algae, minerals, salt, etc. in the water supply can cause bad tasting ice.
Old water filter. If you have a water filtration system, the filter should be replaced as recommended by the manufacturer.
As in real life we must filter out all the bad...good tip, and timely too, since this is the month for me to change the filter in the back of the fridge.
Just changed my filter about a month ago. After we changed it my ice maker broke and had to get that fixed. I'm thinking another scam by the manufacturer
Oh! I knew that, but I kind of "forgot!" Maybe I should do that sometime... My daughter is having a lemonade stand at our garage sale this week. We will be sure to have good-tasting, clean ice!
