Good morning everyone. Time for Tuesday’s questions. Rainroosty will be pleased to know that none of them have anything to do with Today in History.

Today’s Question(s):

You are asked to give a 5-minute speech, to a mixed group of adults of all ages, about any topic that is close to your heart, or about which you have some expertise. What would your topic be?

Extra Credit Question:

How many menus do you have at home for take-out food places/restaurants? A guess will do!

When was the last time you had a take-out meal?

And what did you have?

Bonus Question:

Vera the Voucher Fairy wants to give you a $50 voucher/coupon for just one of the following. Which one will you choose?

Restaurant
Plant nursery
Box store
Clothing store
Hair salon
Grocery store
Day spa (for massage, facials etc)
Auto accessories store
Sports store

Just for Fun:

How many televisions do you have in your home?

How many of them do you actually use on a regular basis?

How old is your oldest television?

Today In History:

1864 Abraham Lincoln elected to his second term as president
1960 John F. Kennedy beats Vice President Richard Nixon to become the 35th U.S. president
1965 "Days of Our Lives" premieres on TV
1984 Anna Fisher becomes first "mom" to go into orbit

… and this one belongs to yesterday, but it made me chuckle, so I’m listing it for today.
2010 Queen Elizabeth II launches a page on Facebook; no one is allowed to 'poke' or 'befriend' her.

Today’s Word:

Plebiscite PLEB-uh-sahyt\ , noun;
1. A direct vote of the qualified voters of a state in regard to some important public question.
2. The vote by which the people of a political unit determine autonomy or affiliation with another country.

Today’s Questions – Tuesday 8th November, 2011
Good morning everyone. Time for Tuesday’s questions. Rainroosty will be pleased to know that none of them have anything to do with Today in History.
.....Yayyyyyy! Thank you, Kobber! This is mighty-fine of you!

Today’s Question(s):

You are asked to give a 5-minute speech, to a mixed group of adults of all ages, about any topic that is close to your heart, or about which you have some expertise. What would your topic be?
~ Time and the world/universe and how it controls our lives.

Extra Credit Question: Yayyy! I will buy cat food and sardines!

How many menus do you have at home for take-out food places/restaurants? A guess will do!
~ About 20. I'm glad that we didn't have to go and count them all!

When was the last time you had a take-out meal?
~ Subway sandwich, maybe about 11 days ago. Normally really good stuff, this employee destroyed my meatball sub and I had to drive back over there and have them re-do it; when I got home with it the second time it had *zero* sauce. This was the first time I had the morning crew make my sub...usually I go there during the late afternoon.

And what did you have?
~ LOL! sorry!.....I had the meatball with green peppers and tomato slices.

Bonus Question:

Vera the Voucher Fairy wants to give you a $50 voucher/coupon for just one of the following. Which one will you choose?

Restaurant <~~~Yayyy! But it has to be fast food! ...
Plant nursery
Box store <~~~ I never went to one of those....
Clothing store
Hair salon
Grocery store
Day spa (for massage, facials etc)
Auto accessories store
Sports store

Just for Fun:

How many televisions do you have in your home?
~ Just one 40" LCD....Panasonic Viera, 1080. It's great.

How many of them do you actually use on a regular basis?

How old is your oldest television?

Today In History: .....

Today Is:

Cook Something Bold and Pungent Day
~ Okay, let's see.......I've got one!! How about a chicken liver chili
with sour cream and tortilla chips? Add some fresh onion, wetly grated through a cheese grater....yum!

Well, thank you for the very nice and pleasant surprise, Kobber!
I wish you and all our friends and folks a HappyWeek! Eat!

Today’s Question(s):

You are asked to give a 5-minute speech, to a mixed group of adults of all ages, about any topic that is close to your heart, or about which you have some expertise. What would your topic be? Well, I would probably decline the offer as I don't like public speaking. If I didn't have a choice I think the topic would be the importance of the arts in education.

Extra Credit Question:

How many menus do you have at home for take-out food places/restaurants? A guess will do! None

When was the last time you had a take-out meal? Last summer. I was ushering two of the New York Theater shows in Hanover and knew there wouldn't be much time to eat between shows.

And what did you have? A sandwich from Panera. Maybe it was the chicken and artichoke.

Bonus Question:

Vera the Voucher Fairy wants to give you a $50 voucher/coupon for just one of the following. Which one will you choose?

Restaurant
Plant nursery
Box store
Clothing store
Hair salon
Grocery store...... I would start shopping for Thanksgiving. I guess I'm in a practical mood at the moment. Later in the day I'd probably say the spa.
Day spa (for massage, facials etc)
Auto accessories store
Sports store

Just for Fun:

How many televisions do you have in your home? Two

How many of them do you actually use on a regular basis? One I don't use at all. The other I mostly use to watch what I get from Netflix. I have a Roku, no cable or satellite.

How old is your oldest television?
The tv that I don't use, but is still working, is over 30 years old. I know we had it before my older daughter was born and she's 31.

I need to get moving here. It'll will be a long day, starting with an 8am staff meeting and ending by going to a show, Boeing Boeing, with friends tonight. Have a good day!
