Hi, kids! Happy Saturday! Scroll on down for Today's Tip.
STOP SALES CALLS!
Are you sick and tired of receiving sales calls? If you're not already registered with the National Do Not Call Registry, take the time now to do it. You'll be glad you did, as it'll spare you from countless annoying sales calls!
Here's how to sign up:
Register online at www.donotcall.gov. You will receive a confirmation e-mail and you need to click on the e-mail link within 72 hours to add your number to the registry.
Or, call (888) 382-1222 from the number you wish to register and follow the prompts.
The service is free. Expect to wait about 31 days before the calls decrease. After that, if a telemarketer calls you in violation of the rule, report it to the FTC. [Contact #s in the web site - link below.) You can verify that your number is registered by going to the web site or calling the toll-free number.
Please note that a few callers are exempt from the rule. These include charities, politicians and businesses with which you already have an established relationship.

I don't believe you need to renew unless you've changed phone numbers. Once you register a number it's good forever.
We registered all our phones, the landlines and the cells. It's a rarity if we get a non-compliance phone call. If we do we remind them that we're a DNC number and that they are in violation and can be fined $10,000. That stops that company.
I like those phone calls - I'll talk to anybody! It's fun to stop them half way through the
routine they've learned, they get lost. I'll say something like "look before I buy a phone
from you, hows about you making me an offer on a wardrobe I've got spare?" or
something along that line. They get confused. Sometimes I play the elderly old man not
quite all there. Helps the day pass quicker. Once, I got an American girl on, the only one
I've ever had. We ended up talking about her weather, and her quite sad love life. I put
her straight on the waste of space she was seeing. Told her she could do better. Enjoyed
that chat!!!
