Good morning everyone and welcome to Kobber’s Tuesday Questions. Today, for some reason, I’ve been extra plagued by allergies – sneezing, itchy eyes, scratchy skin… all day long. So this sets the theme for Today’s Question.

Today’s Question:

Do you have any allergies?

If yes, what are you allergic to, and how do your allergies manifest themselves (sneezing, rashes, splotches, whatever)?

Extra Credit Question:

Do you ride a bicycle (road bike, mountain bike or exercise bike)?

If so, roughly how long do you spend riding your bike in a normal (good weather) week?

Bonus Question:

Do you live in the same State (or region for overseas QOTD’ers) that you were born in?

If not, roughly how many miles away is your birth town/city?

Just for Fun:

Today is ‘Inconvenience Yourself Day’. Do you expect to be inconvenienced more than usual today? If yes, in what ways?

Today in History:

1066 Westminster Abbey opens
1692 Salem witch hunt begins
1827 First commercial railroad in U.S., Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) chartered
1935 Nylon discovered by Dr. Wallace H. Carothers
1940 U.S. population at 131,669,275
1970 Bicycles permitted to cross Golden Gate Bridge
2011 The last surviving veteran of World War I, Frank Buckles, dies in West Virginia at the age of 110

Today’s Word:

Pettifog / PET-ee-fog \ , verb;
1. To bicker or quibble over trifles or unimportant matters.
2. To carry on a petty, shifty, or unethical law business.
3. To practice chicanery of any sort.

Today Is:

Car Keys and Small Change Day
Inconvenience Yourself Day
Public Sleeping Day
Floral Design Day
DNA Discovery Day

Today’s Question:

Do you have any allergies?
No, none. I'm lucky, I know!

Extra Credit Question:

Do you ride a bicycle (road bike, mountain bike or exercise bike)?
Not for many years.

Bonus Question:

Do you live in the same State (or region for overseas QOTD’ers) that you were born in?
I live in the same town I was born in.

Just for Fun:

Today is ‘Inconvenience Yourself Day’. Do you expect to be inconvenienced more than usual today? If yes, in what ways?
We have a meeting once a month with a consultant that is a total waste of time.

Tuesday means an early morning staff meeting, in addition to the meeting above, so I must get moving. Have a good day!

Ohhhhhhh, yes. I have an early-morning meeting to go over IEP paperwork (which is why I've been up since 4:30 <*yawn*>), then I have to dash home during my prep period to let the pups out because after school I have to run the lights and soundboard for a concert at school. It's gonna be a looooooooooong day .....

This may not be the time to mention that I'm descended from John Endicott, the first Royal Governor of Salem .....

Time to be off and running again. Tonight I leave for Europe and Asia for a couple of weeks. For once I will actually get some decent time off in Germany. Maybe I will hop a train and do some sightseeing.

Today’s Question:

Do you have any allergies?

A few. Many years ago I found out the hard way that I should not work on a wheat harvest crew. My eyes were very red for 5 weeks.

If yes, what are you allergic to, and how do your allergies manifest themselves (sneezing, rashes, splotches, whatever)?
Not really sure what is was that I was allergic to while working on the harvest crew. I have no problems consuming wheat products.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you ride a bicycle (road bike, mountain bike or exercise bike)?
I have not ridden a bike in more than 30 years

If so, roughly how long do you spend riding your bike in a normal (good weather) week?
When I was growing up in the summertime I spent hours a day riding my bike.

Bonus Question:

Do you live in the same State (or region for overseas QOTD’ers) that you were born in?
I do not

If not, roughly how many miles away is your birth town/city?
Around 2,000 miles

Just for Fun:

Today is ‘Inconvenience Yourself Day’. Do you expect to be inconvenienced more than usual today? If yes, in what ways?
Tonight for sure. I will be flying across 18 times zones before getting to a hotel tomorrow.

Good morning, Kobber! Sorry to hear that allergies are taking a toll on you - hope the pollen moves out quickly.

Do you have any allergies?

Oh, yes.

If yes, what are you allergic to, and how do your allergies manifest themselves (sneezing, rashes, splotches, whatever)?

I am allergic to political grandstanding and bloviating, and the symptoms manifest as generalized nausea throughout campaign season.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you ride a bicycle (road bike, mountain bike or exercise bike)?

No, the knees aren't up for it.

Bonus Question:

Do you live in the same State (or region for overseas QOTD’ers) that you were born in?

Nope.

If not, roughly how many miles away is your birth town/city?

I live about 450 miles from the place where I was born.
Just for Fun:

Today is ‘Inconvenience Yourself Day’. Do you expect to be inconvenienced more than usual today? If yes, in what ways?

I sure hope not; it's not the busiest time of year for me, so I'm hoping for a calm, peaceful day.
