Morning y’all
. . . . . Didja Know?
In 1965 as an April Fool’s Day prank on their viewers, the BBC aired an "interview" with
the inventor of "Smellovision", a new technology that would allow people at home
to smell aromas created in the studio.

To demonstrate, the man chopped onions and brewed a pot of coffee. Many viewers called in
to say they had smelled the aromas that were transmitted through their TV sets

I don't remember that programme! But, that's the English for you back in those days, so easily fooled. Judy told me, that back in the early days of tv here, when the newsreader was on reading the news, her grandmother while changing for bed into her nightie, would put a cover over the screen as she thought he could see her!!

We've had smell-o-vision for decades and it's getting worse. Most of what's on TV stinks.

I’ve found that the brightness control helps with the odors on tv. If you don’t see it as much it smells less.

I don't remember that April Fool's prank.

The BBC's best known one is possibly this;

I didn't know that Joy, but that is pretty funny. The mind can do amazing things.
