A 5 year old Ohio kindergarten student was suspended after he returned from spring break sporting a
Mohawk - and a very tame one at that. The superintendent said the hairstyle is a distraction for students
and violates the district’s rules.
The boy’s mother was told his hairdo caused a disturbance as the teachers in the classroom couldn’t get
the attention of the students
In a classic example of 'do as I say, not as I do' the boy's suspension comes after a volunteer football
coach in the district was praised (and profiled) in a local paper for sporting a blonde Mohawk to motivate
the football team.
Good grief! Sure, go ahead and ban that five year because of his haircut. By the way, a butterfly on a window might distract those kids so let's ban butterflies!
I guess the teacher thought he was going to go on the warpath...
