Hi, kids! Scroll on down for Today's Tip.

DECREASE HEART RISKS

I think we all know that staying physically active helps to ensure heart health. I discovered
some fascinating facts which I was previously unaware of and which send a strong message
for us to get up off our butts and move more.

If we sit for long periods of time, our triglycerides increase - BAD!

If we sit for long periods of time, our good cholesterol levels drop - BAD!

If we sit for long periods of time, our entire bodies become inflamed, which
significantly increases our risks for heart attack or stroke - BAD!

If you are sitting at a desk, in a plane, a car, or any place where you will be sedentary for
more than an hour or so, STAND UP! Decrease your heart risks by getting up and walking
around, even for a few minutes. If you can't walk around, at least stand up next to your
seat and stretch. Bend and touch the floor several times, or touch your knees if you can't
reach the floor. Do some squats or half-squats. Flex your feet.

Now that you've read this, stand up! Take care of your heart and it'll take care of you.

Just got back from a 3 days camping trip and all we did was sit and drink. Now I feel tried and sluggish... OK, maybe it wasn't the sitting!

I need to do this more often! The only time you find me stooping to the floor is when I've dropped my cigarette, cigarette lighter or when I'm having one of my usual hallucinations spotting a $50 dollar bill on the floor!

How do I stand walk and do CD at the same time. Maybe someone can invent a portable laptop harness that fits snug to the body so we can hike and type at the same time...

Plus ... Sitting on your rump-a-thomp all day long can cause your buns to be flatter than pancakes
